At the begining of this past school year, I heard about Mainstage's trip to Scotland for a theatre festival. I've never been to Europe before, and have been dying to go for such a long time. So when Meg and Tim approached me about joining everyone on the trip at the end of my first Mainstage show, Footloose, I was thrilled. At the time, I was already signed up to take two other musical theatre intensives that overlaped with "Camp Doorknobs" and our first week in Europe. I told my parents about the invitation I had received, and, because of my other plans, they were at first a little bit skeptic. After talking with Meg and Tim about the specifics of the event, however, the first thing they said to me was, "You have to go on this trip - it sounds amazing!"

Well, here I am now, having survived our first week of long, challenging rehearsals, getting ready to board a plane that will take me out of the States for the very first time. To be completely honest, I'm not very fond of flying and am getting increasingly anxious as time goes on. Lenin and Brian are helping me to keep my mind off of the upcoming flight by kindly and obnoxiously shouting over my shoulders with a steady stream of gramatical help (Brian) and many irrelevant yet hilarious comments (courtesy of Lenin). Just thinking about all the amazing adventures that await us all in Europe starting in just about seven hours fills me with excitement, and I can't wait for the fun to begin.
