This is going to be a short update--it's late here, I'm falling asleep on this keyboard, and we've got to be in the hotel lobby with all our luggage at 4:55am. However, we'll have a lot of time to write on the train tomorrow, so expect all the details and a wide array of guest student bloggers soon. But today was another terrific day filled with laughter, adventure, and the kids increasing their travel skills and confidence. We broke into smaller groups and covered more of the city, with everyone choosing which adventure to join.
Today's Highlights:
The Tate Modern Art Gallery
The London Bridge
Camden Town and Lock
The World's Longest St. Paul's Cathedral tour (which may still be going on)
The Haywood Gallery
Covent Garden
Our long-awaited Shakespeare Workshop
The Heresy of Love (the play we saw at The Globe.)
Wow!
We finished up the evening with a birthday partyfor Leo as we all crammed into a hotel room to enjoy snacks and salute our favorite emissary from Taiwan. Leo was the 2nd person to join the company when I came to EHS to teach. He was that all-important "First Follower." He didn't bolt when he saw that there was only one other person in theater, and slowly, we were able to build into what we are today. And here he is on the brink of college, so accomplished and curious about the world. We're going to be a poorer company without him. But that's pain for another day. Tonight we sing "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" to Leo!
