We took a morning trip to see a lovely performance by a school from Wisconsin, where we were given clown noses and where a quick-thiking Maddy Gale picked up the shards of broken glass that fell on the stage when one of the clowns accidentally broke a flower vase. There was a lot of barefoot dancing in the show, so this was a clutch move. The director found her and thanked her after.

We returned to campus for lunch and some hours to kill before our first performance. The weather was clear, so we headed toward Arthur's Seat, the old extinct volcano in the park behind the dorms. Locals say it looks like a lion lying down. But we were not content to stay at the ottom, so up and up and up we went!

We all made it down in time to put on costumes and do the girls' hair, then get on the bus to our venue for our first performance. We had a very small assigned student audience from a school in McLean VA, but they were very nice. That left a lot of empty seats which could only be filled by tourists or other Fringe folks. Knowing that most Fringe audiences however around 12 people, we joked that we needed only 3 tourist tickets to sell to meet expectations.
We patiently waited in what our tech guys call "a dodgy alley" for the moment when we would be allowed into the theater.
